Verdict
What is Webshare? Founded in 2018 and later acquired by Oxylabs, Webshare.io is a proxy company that offers several main types of proxies focused on market research and web scraping. They include more than 80 million residential IPs, a large datacenter IP network, and ISP/static residential proxies. However, there is currently no mobile proxy on the Webshare network. Webshare clients choose its proxies especially for tasks where speed and address stability are important.
It fits users on a budget, beginners, and developers who need proxies for mostly datacenter tasks and small amounts of traffic. It is not the best option for complex scraping, as well as for users who need a mobile proxy or managed unblocker.

Proxy types & network
Rotating residential proxies, 80M+. Webshare offers a pool of over 80 million residential IP addresses in 195 countries. IP addresses can automatically change between requests or sessions, and geotargeting is available at the country, city, state, ZIP code, and ASN levels. Such targeting is convenient for localized scraping and data collection.
ISP/static residential proxies, 100K+. Webshare’s static residential proxies provide stable IP addresses from residential ISP bands. They are suitable for tasks where you need to use the same IP address for a long time, in particular for long sessions, working with accounts, or repeated requests.
Datacenter proxies. Webshare offers a large datacenter proxy network focused on fast and scalable tasks. Various configurations are available, including shared and dedicated IPs, allowing you to choose between a lower price and greater IP exclusivity. Webshare datacenter proxies support HTTP/S and SOCKS5.
Mobile proxies: not available. Webshare does not currently offer a mobile proxy. Users who need IP addresses of mobile operators or mobile-specific targeting will have to consider another provider.
Network. The Webshare network covers 195 countries and includes residential, ISP/static residential, and datacenter proxies. HTTP/S and SOCKS5 are available for connection, and residential proxies support targeting by country, city, state, ZIP code, and ASN. The provider also claims 99.97% uptime with sub-second response times.
Pricing & plans
Free plan. Webshare pricing is flexible and offers 10 datacenter proxies for free with no time limit and no bank card. The free plan includes up to 1 GB of traffic per month, making it a convenient option for testing the service and small tasks.
Datacenter proxies. Datacenter proxies start at $2.99/month, and the per-proxy price drops as the pool grows. For example, a 1000-IP plan costs $26.91 per month on a monthly billing cycle and supports 500 concurrent connections by default (more with the paid High Concurrency add-on).
Static residential proxies. Static residential proxies are available on an IP payment model: a plan for 100 proxies costs about $30/month, and when the pool increases, the IP price decreases. For 1000 proxies, the price will be $270, billed monthly. This format works well for tasks where stable residential IPs are required for a long time.
Rotating residential proxies. Webshare residential proxies start at $3.50/GB on the smallest plan. The cost per GB gradually decreases with increasing volume: for example, 100 GB costs $2.25/GB, and 3000 GB costs $1.40/GB for a monthly payment. This makes the residential model much more profitable for large volumes of traffic.
Self-serve pricing. At Webshare, the user can independently choose the type of proxy, the number of IPs, or the amount of traffic and immediately draw up an appropriate plan. Most standard plans do not require sales calls or individual negotiations.
Performance (success rate & speed)
Webshare reports sub-second responses with 99.97% uptime. At the same time, on targets with strict anti-bot protection, the efficiency may be lower than that of tier-1 providers, and you may run into rate limits (HTTP 429) on some sites.
According to Proxyway, the success rate of Webshare rotating residential proxies is 99.28% (average response time 0.86 s), while for datacenter proxies the number is 99.93%.
Features & tools
Webshare proxy service features include:
- Simple dashboard
- Instant proxy issuance
- API support
- Chrome browser extension
- Sticky sessions
- Free tier with 1 GB per month
- No managed unblocker or mobile proxies
Ethics & compliance & IP sourcing
Compared to tier-1 providers, Webshare publishes less detailed information about the origin and sourcing of IP addresses, residential network practices, compliance, and certification. For most budget and standard proxy tasks, this is not necessarily a problem, but customers with strict requirements for transparency and IP origin verification should consider this factor when choosing a provider.
Webshare follows a self-serve model without upfront KYC, so users can sign up and start using a proxy right away; identity verification is requested only if suspicious activity is detected or to unlock restricted targets.
Use cases
Web scraping. With Webshare datacenter proxy, developers can scrape websites with simpler or more moderate protection systems. It is a practical option for collecting prices, content, catalogues, and other public data.
Testing & development. Webshare proxies can be used in testbeds to check the operation of websites from different IP addresses and regions. This is convenient for QA teams and users who need a low-cost testing environment.
Small- and medium-scale data collection. If your main requirements are an affordable price, simple configuration, and a sufficient number of IP addresses, then Webshare proxies can be enough for regular data collection.
Learning & experiments. A free tier with 10 datacenter proxies makes Webshare a relevant option for learning web scraping, automation experiments, and the first proxy projects without high costs.
Automation & bots. Webshare proxies can be used for automation and bots in scenarios where target sites do not have the toughest anti-bot systems.
Support & docs
Webshare works mainly in the self-serve format. It means that users can independently configure the proxy using documentation, and if necessary, turn to support through tickets or the in-dashboard chat (a bot around the clock, human agents 24/5). However, the service does not offer a dedicated CSM for personal support of customers.
What users say
Based on G2 Webshare reviews and Trustpilot reviews, 27.10.2026
4.0/5 on G2 (5 reviews)
4.1/5 on Trustpilot (1,472 reviews)
Among the main advantages of Webshare, users note the free tier, affordable prices, and user-friendliness. The service has a low entry threshold, a quick start, and is well suited for datacenter and static tasks, especially when it comes to modest traffic volumes.
At the same time, Webshare has certain limitations for more complex scenarios. Users may face weaker performance on highly protected targets. Moreover, the residential pool and overall set of capabilities are inferior to tier-1 providers. In addition, the service does not offer mobile proxies and managed unblocker.

FAQ
Is Webshare safe and legit?
Yes, Webshare is a legitimate proxy provider that offers datacenter, residential, and static residential proxies. At the same time, for sensitive or large-scale tasks, it is worth separately evaluating the quality of the IP pool, the level of targeting, and efficiency for specific anti-bot purposes.
Is Webshare really free?
Yes, there is a Webshare free proxy tier with 10 datacenter proxies that do not require a bank card. This is a convenient option to test the service before switching to a paid plan.
How much does Webshare cost?
Webshare pricing is budget-friendly, and residential proxies are available from $3.50 per GB. The exact cost depends on the type of proxy, volume, and plan chosen.
Is Webshare good for web scraping?
Yes, Webshare is great for small and medium-sized scraping tasks, especially if you need a datacenter or static residential proxy. For extensive scraping of websites with strict anti-bot protection, the service’s capabilities are more limited compared to tier-1 providers.
Does Webshare have residential (and mobile) proxies?
Webshare offers residential proxies, but there are no mobile proxies in its range. If a mobile IP is a key requirement, we recommend considering Webshare alternatives.
Webshare vs Decodo / Bright Data?
Webshare is more focused on budget users, beginners, and simpler proxy tasks. Decodo and Bright Data offer a wider selection of proxy types, targeting, and tools for complex scraping, so they are a better choice for enterprise scenarios and hard anti-bot targets.
Where does Webshare get its IPs?
The IP source depends on the type of proxy. Datacenter IPs come from data centers, while residential IPs are linked to real residential networks. For an accurate assessment, it is worth looking at the declared IP source and available sourcing information for a specific proxy type.
Is Webshare a VPN?
No. While Webshare can sometimes be searched for as “Webshare VPN”, the company provides proxy servers rather than a traditional VPN.
