Privacy Policy

What personal data techtolead.com collects, why, how long we keep it, and the rights you can exercise over it.

Last updated: 8 August 2026 · Effective from: 8 August 2026

This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use techtolead.com and what we do with it. TechToLead operates the site from the United Kingdom and is the data controller. All privacy enquiries: admin@techtolead.com.

The short version: we run a review site, not a data business. We do not sell personal data, we do not run advertising networks, and we do not build advertising profiles.

1. What we collect

  • What you send us — your name, email address and whatever you write, when you email us or use a form.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser, referring URL, pages requested and timestamps, logged automatically by our hosting.
  • Analytics data — pages viewed, time on page, approximate city or region, device and how you arrived. Collected only if you consent to analytics cookies.
  • Your cookie choices and when you made them.

We do not collect payment details, because nothing here is sold to readers, and we have no use for special category data — please do not send us any.

2. Why we use it, and our legal basis

  • To run the site and keep it secure — our legitimate interest in a working, non-abused website.
  • To answer your enquiries and correction reports — our legitimate interest; you contacted us.
  • To see which pages are read, so we know what to keep updated — your consent.
  • To count clicks through to vendors in aggregate — our legitimate interest.
  • To meet legal obligations and handle claims — legal obligation and legitimate interest.

Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time, and withdrawal does not affect what was done before. Where we rely on legitimate interests you can object.

3. Cookies

Set out in full in our cookie policy. Non-essential cookies are only set with your consent.

4. Affiliate links

We earn commission on some outbound links. We set no tracking cookie on your device and run no affiliate network tag. When you follow one of these links, the vendor’s privacy policy applies from that point and they may set their own cookies. We receive aggregate click and conversion reports — not your name, email or payment details. See our affiliate disclosure.

5. Who else sees it

We do not sell personal data or share it with data brokers or advertisers. A small number of service providers process data on our instructions under written contract: hosting and content delivery, analytics, email and form handling, and security and anti-spam. Ask at admin@techtolead.com if you want to know which. We may also disclose data where legally required or to defend a legal claim.

6. International transfers

The site is run from the UK and read worldwide, so using it means your data is processed in the UK and, through our providers, potentially in the EEA and the United States. Where data leaves the UK or EEA we rely on an adequacy decision, or on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. How long we keep it

Correspondence: 24 months after the matter is closed. Correction reports and what we did about them: 5 years, as our editorial record. Server logs: 30 days. Analytics: 14 months. Cookie consent records: 12 months.

8. Your rights

Different laws give different people different rights. Rather than sorting readers by country, we extend the core rights to everyone who asks, wherever you are: access a copy of your data, have it corrected, have it deleted, get a portable copy, object to processing, and withdraw consent.

If you are in the UK or EEA, these are your rights under the UK and EU GDPR, along with the right to restrict processing. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or to your local supervisory authority.

If you are in the United States, residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have rights to know, access, correct, delete, port, and opt out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell personal information, do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and do not process it for targeted advertising — which is why there is no “Do Not Sell or Share” link in our footer. If we decline a request, several states give you a right of appeal: reply with “Appeal” in the subject line and a different person will review it.

To exercise any right, email admin@techtolead.com. We respond within one month (45 days for US requests) and will tell you if we need longer. There is no charge.

9. Children

This site is for a professional adult audience. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, tell us and we will delete it.

10. Security and changes

We use HTTPS throughout, restrict administrative access, and keep the platform patched. No website can promise perfect security, and we would rather say so. We review this policy at least annually; the date at the top shows when it last changed.

11. Contact

Everything to do with this policy — questions, access requests, deletions, objections, complaints — goes to admin@techtolead.com. If you are unhappy with our response, tell us before going elsewhere; most complaints turn out to be something we can fix in a day.
